The Dominik Tatarka Honor for edge-cutting debut

Published in the PRACA newspaper on 20 February, 1995

On Saturday, Minister Ivan Hudec presented the Dominik Tatarka Honor. This prize is given to beginning authors for their noteworthy work. One of the most distinguished awards the Minister of Culture in the Slovak Republic can bestow was received by the members of a literary group Bapasaba from the town of Nova Dubnica, Slovakia: Rastislav Dobos (incidentally our fellow employee in the editorial department), Jaroslav Bednarik, Janko Petrek and late Ivan Rosa (1963-1987). Together these four young authors introduced themselves in a book debut Milky Sap and Air Surfer that represents a distinctive original even experimental voice.

The Dominik Tatarka Honor ranks among awards named after distinguished personalities of our artistic, literary and social life which the Minister of Culture in the Slovak Republic will annually impart to artists and cultural workers for merits in development of the Slovak culture and human values.
